Special edition 32GB iPhone 6 to land in Canada on July 5

Earlier this year Apple re-launched the iPhone6. While the original from 2014 came with either 16, 64, or 128GB of storage, the newly released special edition iPhone 6 sports 32GB of space, making it a much more decent proposition in 2017, from this point of view at least. Keep in mind that it’s identical to the original in all other respects.

This new iPhone 6 has so far been released in certain Asian Terretories (including India),Belarus, as well as the UK. And now it’s almost ready to be introduced in a new market: Canada.

According to a report from the country, Canadian carriers will start selling the 32GB iPhone 6 in Space Grey on July 5. It will be priced at CAD 485 (that’s about $365 or 326€ at the current exchange rates). It’s still unclear if Apple will sell the model directly through its retail locations too. The company has declined to comment on this rumor.

OnePlus news alert: OnePlus 3T goes out of stock ahead of successor launch; OnePlus 5 battery details, TV ad revealed

Last month, OnePlus announced the stoppage of OnePlus 3T sales in Europe and select global markets in June. Now, the 2016-flagship is finally off the shelves just days ahead of OnePlus 5 launch.

OnePlus 3T stocks have been cleared in Europe and US as OnePlus 5. The device 5 will be made available for purchase on the company’s official online e-store on the launch day, June 20, in New York City. However, OnePlus has confirmed to International Business Times India that OnePlus 3T (6GB &128GB) will continue to be sold in India until the end of 2017.

In a related development, OnePlus 5 battery details have surfaced online. As per the Slashleaks report, the new phone will come with 3,400mAh, same as the OnePlus 3T.

However, the cell will Dash Charge 2.0 technology, which is said to offer faster charging and hit 50% capacity in much lesser time compared to the first generation.

OnePlus has released a TV video ad revealing key design elements.

In the ad, Amitabh Bachchan teases the device understood to be OnePlus 5. He opens a suitcase purportedly to pull out the device only to close it saying the phone will be revealed on June 22 in India. The ad signs off with the device’s front and back view.

The new phone looks slimmer than the predecessor and as seen in the image teaser, the rear-side looks identical to iPhone 7 Plus. The dual-camera bears uncanny resemblance with Apple’s 2016 phablet, except the camera doesn’t jut out.

Nokia 3 goes on sale in India, available through offline channels

As promised, the Nokia 3 Android smartphone is now available for purchase in India. It’s priced at INR 9,499 ($147), and is only available through offline channels in the Asian country.

Nokia 3

The device was made official for India earlier this week, along with the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. The latter two aren’t yet available in the country – pre-orders for the Nokia 5 will begin July 7 onwards, while the Nokia 6 will be up for pre-order starting July 14.

Top 10 trending phones of week 24

It’s the end of an era almost, as the Samsung Galaxy S8 streak at the top finally comes to an end, the Korean flagship stepping down to third place this week. And congratulations to our new champion – the Nokia 6, which took advantage of its market launch to grab the first spot.

Between those two we find the OnePlus 5 – the second spot is particularly impressive achievement given that the smartphone isn’t even official yet. With the announcement coming early next week we’d be surprised if we don’t have a new leader in a week.

Last week’s silver medalist, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 has slipped down to 4th this week, ahead of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and the Redmi 4.

The Redmi 4a retained its seventh spot, ahead of the iPhone 6, which continues to be the most popular Apple device for yet another week. It seems the Cupertino company’s price reductions of the phone have really paid off handsomely.

The final two spots in the top 10 are taken by the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017), which managed to keep even the premium Galaxy S8+ off the chart.

Aside from Europe, the KEYone is also available in the US and Canada, where it launched late last month. The phone’s demand has been high in the US where it quickly went out of stock online initially. For those who care, the device didn’t fare well in comprehensive durability test.
